What is an impression?
A dental impression is used to provide an exact replica or imprint of the hard (teeth) and soft tissues (gums) of both your upper and lower jaws. Two “horseshoe” shaped trays are used to load a specialised impression material (alginate) that is mixed with water to form a soft “play dough” consistency. One at a time, these trays are placed into your mouth and allowed to set. After approximately 30-60 seconds the alginate sets and the tray is removed from your mouth. The end result is an exact imprinted replica of your upper and law teeth. These impressions are then sent to our dental laboratory where your Custom Fit Teeth Whitening Trays are fabricated.
Can anyone utilise your Mobile Custom Fit Teeth Whitening Tray Service?
Yes, well almost. Dental Impressions are utilised in dentistry for a wide variety of purposes. However, for those who have a strong gag reflex we suggest taking advantage of our Complete Home Teeth Whitening Kit. For all clients who are considering this service we always suggest that you have had a recent and/or are up to date with your regular dental examination and clean appointments.
How long does it take?
The procedure itself is very simple and takes only about 15 minutes for both impressions (upper and lower). The time allocated for your appointment is slightly longer so we can discuss and run through procedural instructions, show you how to use your whitening kit and trays and answer any questions you may have.
How is a 'Custom Fit Tray' different from a 'Thermoforming (Boil and Bite) Tray'?
A Custom Fit Tray is an individualised and customised imprint of your teeth. The end result is two seamlessly fitting whitening trays (upper and lower) that exactly replicate your individual mouth. A Thermoforming Bleach Tray requires a plastic tray to be heated in boiling water than adapted, using your fingers, to your teeth. Although Thermoforming Trays are a great alternative to visiting the dentist they simply do not fit and adapt to your teeth as well as Custom Fit Tray. Clients often find that bleach may leak out of their Thermoforming Bleach Trays if they are not adequately adapted to their teeth therefore, causing soft tissue irritation and sensitivity.
Is your service the same as what my local dentist offers?
Yes. We use the exact same professional products and processes utilised within private dental practices. We source all of our high quality dental products directly from the same professional Dental Suppliers. The only difference is we conveniently come to you and you pay a fraction of the price offered at many dental practices. Simple!
What bleaching gel is included in my kit?
Its your choice! We allow clients to choose between two professional dental grade formulations and their successive concentrations:
-
Poladay: 3% or 6% Hydrogen Peroxide
-
Polanight: 10%, 16% or 18% Carbamide Peroxide
We source all of our genuine bleaching products from authentic professional dental suppliers. Many of which are only available to licensed and verified dental practitioners. You can read more about Poladay and Polanight by clicking their respective links.
I am a gagger, is this best option for me?
We understand that people who gag may not feel comfortable having dental impressions taken. For this reason, for those concerned about their gag reflex we recommend purchasing one of our Complete Home Teeth Whitening Kits. These kits include 3x Thermoforming Whitening Trays.

What happens if I loose or damage my Custom Fit Trays?

You will need to post your bleaching models to us and your Custom Fit Trays will be fabricated in our dental laboratory for a small fee.
